Response to the Mine Safety & Health Administration's (MSHA) Procedure Instruction Letter No. I10-V-15 released August 31
September 2, 2010 – In response to the Mine Safety & Health Administration's (MSHA) Procedure Instruction Letter No. I10-V-15 released August 31; CSE Corporation issues the following statement.
SR-100 User Notice (Updated) - May 12, 2010
May 12, 2010 – In cooperation with MSHA and NIOSH, CSE has extended the customer notification originally announced in February, to inform all SR-100 customers of a potential issue with the oxygen cylinder used to automatically start the unit.
SR-100 User Notice (Updated) - May 10, 2010
May 10, 2010 – In February of this year, CSE Corporation alerted customers with SR-100s with serial numbers in a certain range that CSE is investigating a possibility that some units might receive less than optimum oxygen during the initial start-up. Through its quality control program, CSE Corporation identified an oxygen cylinder received from its supplier that presented an issue that CSE is investigating as to the potential that the breathing bag in an affected SR-100 unit might receive less than the optimum amount of oxygen necessary for full inflation, if the unit is started with the oxygen cylinder.
Statement Regarding the Performance Coal - Upper Big Branch Mine Explosion
April 26, 2010 – On behalf of the employees of CSE Corporation, I extend our thoughts and prayers to the families of the miners lost in the tragic event at the Performance Coal – Upper Big Branch Mine in their time of need. The mine recovery efforts continue in response to the explosion and CSE is continuing to provide support services to the recovery teams and investigators at the Upper Big Branch Mine.
CSE Announces Limited Voluntary Recall of Certain SR-100's for Evaluation
February 26, 2010 – Recall to affect less than one percent of units manufactured
Monroeville, Pa. – CSE Corporation (CSE) has issued a voluntary recall and suspended production on the SR-100, a self-contained, self-rescue unit used in mining operations. The recall is specific to a small segment of recently manufactured units and is related to an issue with the oxygen starter mechanism, company officials confirmed today.
SR-100 User Notice - February 25, 2010
February 25, 2010 – Through its quality control program, CSE Corporation identified a possible issue with a component part to its SR-100 involving a shipment of oxygen cylinders from its supplier. CSE is investigating the potential that the breathing bag in the affected SR-100 units may receive less than the optimum amount of oxygen necessary for full inflation, if the unit is started with the oxygen cylinder.
