Mine Site Technologies

Mine Site Technologies (MST) is the global leader in mining communication and tracking systems. MST's technologies have been installed in over 450 underground & surface mines around the world. These technologies include:

  • ImPact Digital Communications & RFID Tracking – a digital 802.11b/g Wi-Fi standards network for underground mines. This network can be used with any Wi-Fi enabled device. Two key applications used in mines are RFID Tracking and two-way voice communications via VoIP Telephones (the MinePhone)
  • MinePhone – for two-way voice & texting underground via the digital network
  • RFID Tagging – an active Wi-Fi Tag is carried by personnel or attached to equipment underground to track their movement around the mine.
  • Integrated Communications Cap Lamp – The ICCL is a lightweight cap lamp that can include a number of communication and tracking devices. These include RFID Tag, PED Text Receiver, and/or radio.
  • PED Emergency Warning System – PED is a one-way text messaging system that uses an ultra low frequency transmission system to transmit directly through rock strata. This enables mine wide signal coverage from, in many cases, an antenna located on the surface only.
  • BlastPED – remote blast initiation using the PED transmission system and remote receiver/exploders.
  • Proximity Detection – for underground & surface mines.
