Our main product lines consist of:

• Escape Breathing Apparatus, or SCSRs (Self-Contained Self-Rescuers), designed to be carried or stored and provide life-saving oxygen during an emergency where the air becomes dangerous or toxic. CSE was an inventor of one of the first ever carriable SCSRs.
• Closed-Circuit SCBA's, also called Re-Breathers, provide specialized teams and rescue workers up to 4-hours of breathing time.
• Gas detection devices for measuring and monitoring a wide variety of atmospheric contaminants.

CSE designs and manufactures its products at its U.S. based facility, located in the town of Export, Pennsylvania. In January of 2020, CSE acquired Biomarine, Inc. and moved operations to its Export, PA facility. CSE is also fully dedicated to ensuring workers are familiar with their safety equipment and offers training courses both onsite and at its facility.

In 1969, CSE Corporation began by servicing and repairing safety equipment for mining companies. Our founder, Sam Shearer understood miners, their work environment, and the impact the equipment had on their lives. High standards became a hallmark of the company, and a reason for its expansion.

Over 50 years later, CSE has evolved into a full-scale safety equipment company, designing and manufacturing rugged safety products for industrial environments. Our core products focus on gas detection—both handheld and fixed systems—and emergency escape breathing devices.

A true industry innovator, CSE has developed first-in-the-world products, including the first carried 1-hour duration escape breathing device and the first SMART Self-Contained Self-Rescuer. The acquisition of Biomarine, whose roots are in life support systems for moon missions, exemplifies our pioneering spirit.
